Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best well-known for her character of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her performance as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of a United Auto Workers executive and his wife who was a household worker. Her upbringing was within a household with four other brothers. As a child she longed to be a court reporter. But after she graduated from high school and relocating into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. She starred in 1981 as a naive teen in the film All My Children. The career of Delaney has been filled with a variety of television shows and dramas. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. The talented actress has struggled with alcoholism throughout her life and has been through two marriages that failed. In 2005, her custody was removed from her.
